First Aid

If you are concerned about what may happen if you have an emergency or any medical issues or injuries while in the parks then hopefully this may reassure you.

Disneyland Paris has it's own fire and rescue service who are well trained and equipped. If you have an issue while at Disney and can't make it to a first aid location they will come to you to assess you and determine the next best steps. This may include assisting you to get to one of the first aid centres.

There are First Aid Centres in both parks:

  • In Disneyland Park - at the end of the discovery arcade, close to Plaza Gardens Restaurant
  • In Walt Disney Studios Park - as you first enter the park on the right hand side

The First Aid Centres can assist with everything from providing plasters for rubbing shoes and paracetamol for a headache to providing care for medical emergencies until someone can be taken to hospital. They are staffed with fully trained nurses.

Where can I take a Break or Rest?

First Aid Centres and Quieter Spots

Disney can be tiring, for anyone, but add disabilities and chronic illness in and it can be exhausting. It can also be overwhelming, especially given the anticipation and expectations.

If you are really struggling and need to physically rest and lie down your best bet is going to be the first aid centres, where there are staff to assist you and it is safe for you take a rest.

But if you just need to find somewhere a bit quieter or less busy here are some of my suggestions.

In Disneyland Park:

  • Inside Videopolis - this is good if the weather is poor, though there are sometimes shows running over the Christmas season. There are lots of benches and space and cartoons are usually playing. The area where people are eating can be busy but there is usually plenty of space overall to take a break
  • In Frontierland by Pueblo Trading Post - the shop only opens on a weekend and during the week this area can be quiet
  • In Adventureland by Colonel Hathis - when the restaurant is closed the area outside is large and has plenty of tables and chairs and is quiet

In Walt Disney Studios:

  • By Super Diner in Avengers Campus - this part of the campus is usually quieter
  • Up by Cars Road trip - again this area is usually pretty quiet

And if you are out in the village or you are not staying locally and need somewhere quiet the hotel lobbies at New York, Sequoia and Newport Bay all have quiet areas with seating areas, these are usually quiet during the day.

"There are resting spaces at First Aid in Disneyland Park and Studios. Due to disability I need to sleep for a period every day and this made a huge difference to me. Just go in and say you need to rest and they'll show you to a room with cubicles and beds (with a button you can press to make the bed recline or sit you upright). I found First Aid in Studios was quieter as the park one had an adjoining staff room. You can stay as long as you like, get water and use the loo, eat a packed lunch etc. I spent 2hr there on the first day. I recommend an eye mask and headphones/ earplugs."
