RC Racer

RC Racer shrinks you down to take a ride in Andy’s classic RC Racer car, as it travels on it’s bright orange track. While the ride looks simple, this half-pipe coaster is a lot more thrilling than it looks, though the screaming you can often hear from riders may give you a clue as you wait to ride.

Guests must be a minimum of 1.20m to ride and pregnant women are not allowed to ride.

Queueing

There is no premier access for this ride so all colours of priority pass use the accessible entrance.

The accessible queue is located to the left of the ride as you are facing it, opposite slinky dog and opposite the RC Racer toy box photo opportunity. The entrance is not totally clear as there is no cast member there and you need to open a gate and walk down a path between the ride and the regular queue. At the end of this path there is another gate where you wait and a cast member will check your pass there.

There is not usually a particularly long priority queue for this ride.

This ride does have a single rider option to reduce the wait time if the priority pass holder doesn't want to ride but someone else in the party wants to.

Ride Access

You can usually take wheelchairs and mobility aids right up to the ride, and there is a wider gate for the row at the very back of the car to allow you to take your chair right up to the ride.

There is a step over and down to enter the ride but there is grab rails and points to hold onto, and built into the ride vehicle there is a section than folds out to provide a transfer space.

There is a seat which is designed to be more comfortable for plus sized guests, this is located in the rear row but is on the furthest side of the ride so if you are both disabled and need to use this seat loading can be more difficult as you will need to be able to shuffle all the way over to the far seat, and back again to exit.

Guide and assistance dogs are not permitted to ride.

Ride Comfort

The ride is definitely a thrill ride and is both fast and steep so at the highest points you are hanging horizontally, it always makes my stomach do a little flip!

However the harness is very secure and you are not thrown around. The harness is very snug and alongside the harness there is also a strap between your legs that must be secured, and the seat is shaped to come up a little between your legs.

While the ride can be awkward to get on and off once seated and secured it is actually quite comfortable, as long as you enjoy the thrill and style of ride.

Wheelie Good Score

This is a ride I have grown to love. I was never a big thrill seeker but I have got braver over time, and now it is a ride that I do like to do but as it is about to set off I have a feeling of both loving and hating it at exactly the same time! It’s quite a short ride so it’s either a relief it’s over fast or feels like it’s been a lot of effort to get on and off for something over so quick.

Saying that the queue is usually quite quick giving little time for me to change my mind about riding, and the integrated transfer space is a really good feature to make it easier to access this ride.

I'd give it a Wheelie Good Score of 4 out of 5.
