Le Carousel de Lancelot

Fantasyland, Disneyland Park

Le Carousel de Lancelot is a classic merry go round ride featuring beautifully detailed horses and carriages.

There is no minimum height to ride and is suitable for pregnant women.  Guide and assistance dogs may also ride.

Queueing

The accessible queue is located to the left of the main queue entrance, it is opposite the entrance to the shop/the beanstalk.

There is a buggy park next to the accessible entrance and a gate where you wait for a cast member to open it and allow access. There is usually not a very long wait for this ride.

The queue line is short and once you have ben let through the gate there is only a short distance to cover, all with smooth flooring, and a slight ramp up to the loading area.

The load area has wooden boards but is level with the ride.

Ride Access

The horses do come in a couple of different sizes and have a waist strap for smaller children but they do requires some effort and flexibility to get on them!

Alternatively the ride features two carriages which allow you to sit on a padded bench style seat. You can take mobility aids up close to these and though there is a step up into the carriage the seat is at a level where I was able to transfer to the seat without stepping up first, then shuffle along the bench.

Aids such as walking sticks and crutches can be taken on board and placed at your feet.

Guide and assistance dogs are allowed to ride.

Ride Comfort

The ride is mostly smooth and flat if you are seated in a carriage, but you do move up and down on a horse. The seat in the carriage does not really offer any back support and there are no restraints.

It is a merry go round so this is something to bear in mind if motion sickness is a concern.

There is music playing but the ride is well lit as it is outdoors, and is even prettier in the dark.

Wheelie Good Score

This is a classic ride with absolutely gorgeous details in the horses and it feels really nostalgic. It is also not too difficult to get on and off if you use the carriage rather than a horse!

It is not a long ride, so while not necessarily the comfiest you are not seated for too long. I found the transfer reasonable but this may be more difficult for others as I am able to put weight through my legs to aid in transferring.

For me personally it’s a Wheelie Good Score of 4 out of 5. It's not the most exciting ride but is nostalgic and doesn't require too many spoons to ride.
