It's a Small World

Fantasyland, Disneyland Park

A beautiful boat ride taking you on a journey around the world, featuring a range of dolls from many different countries and with a classic soundtrack you will get stuck in your head.

It’s a Small World is a classic ride, full of colour and joy and it now features dolls in wheelchairs too! And if that’s not enough the ride also offers a wheelchair accessible boat.

Pregnant women can ride, as can guide and assistance dogs.  There is also no minimum height requirement.

Queueing

The accessible queue entrance is next to the entrance to the standby queue and the premier access queue so you show your pass to a cast member and they will direct you. If using the accessible queue there is a downwards incline from where you enter the queue then a waiting area.

In the waiting area there is a couple of benches available. As some people may need to wait for the wheelchair accessible boat or need to wait until another disabled guest has finished the queue can get a little confusing but cast members are really good at directing.

Ride Access

A wheelchair accessible boat is available, allowing wheelchair users to stay in their chair, and there is space in the boat for their companions.

If not using the wheelchair accessible boat the regular boats have a steep step down into them and up out of them, you really need to stand on the seat to get in and out, but there is a rail you can hold onto. The boat is quite stable when docked.

Ride Comfort

Once onboard the ride is relatively smooth, but the boats do sometimes bump into each other, mostly at the end of the ride when returning to the loading area. The boats have bench seats with no restraints.

The song can however get really stuck in your head.

Wheelie Good Score

I love this ride, it’s sweet, joyful and colourful and with a wheelchair accessible boat and usually not a massive queue it’s one that doesn’t take up many spoons to ride it.

It’s also lovely to see representation with the dolls in wheelchairs, and really have you even been to Disney if you haven’t been on It’s a Small World!

This ride gets a Wheelie Good Score of 5 out of 5 from me.
