The Lucky Nugget Saloon

Frontierland, Disneyland Park

Type of Restaurant

The Lucky Nugget Saloon is classed as a table service restaurant, but it does not accept advance reservations. When you enter you are given the menu and shown to a till where you place your order and then a cast member will seat you. They will then take your receipt and bring your meal out to you, served on crockery and with metal cutlery.

Food Style

While not an extensive menu there are a few options available such as burgers, both meat and plant-based, fish and chips and ribs. There is a kids menu too and some deserts are offered, though mostly these are ice cream based.

Average Cost

A set menu is offered for adults at 25 euros and kids at 15 euros, these include a main course, dessert and a soft drink. Items can b bought separately and beer or wine can be added separately.

Accessibility Features

The main entrance has a step up to it as it is on a boardwalk, but there is level access to this by walking a few metres to the left of the main entrance.

There is usually a bit of a queue and a cast member at the door, if you show the cast member a priority pass they have always shown me straight in.

Inside it is a horseshoe shape with a stage at the front, then a seating area with tables, but this requires going down a few steps and the tables are usually held for larger groups/families. Around this there are rows of bench seating with high stools, meaning you could be seated next to strangers. Level with the entrance and by the steps down there are two tables kept for those with mobility needs, and these have movable chairs.

They have recently installed a platform lift to allow access to a further seating are that is a few steps up that also has tables available.

There is background music playing but overall the restaurant is considerably quieter and calmer than most other quick service places.

Other Information

According to the lore of Frontierland The Lucky Nugget Saloon was founded by Diamond Lil, after she was lucky enough to find a very large nugget of gold, reportedly the size of a loaf of bread. It was a place to kick back an relax at the time of the gold rush in Thunder Mesa.

There are toilets available within the building, and there is a separate accessible toilet, which is an ample size to allow a carer to assist someone, though there is still only one grab rail, as is the norm in Disneyland Paris accessible toilets.

There is no outdoor seating for this restaurant.

Wheelie Good Opinion

If I fancy a burger then this is a good option, although slightly more expensive than most quick service places the difference is not that big and the set menus here still come with a dessert. You also get part table service, a calmer environment, access to decent toilets, the choice of a glass of wine or beer if wanted and you don't have fight with tiny sachets of ketchup or mayonnaise! You also get proper plates and cutlery, and a lovely atmosphere!

There was only two tables which were accessible and it is good that they have added the platform lift but it was a shame to see it somewhat blocked off on a recent visit so I do hope it will get used and that the cast members there are confident in using it.

So let's see it!
