Hero Training Centre

The Hero Training Centre in Avengers Campus in the Studios Park allows you to meet either Spider-Man or another surprise Marvel Character.

The Centre is purpose build and uses a virtual queue, so you book a slot on the app and go when it is your turn.

To book a slot you need to have your tickets or annual pass linked in the app and be signed in, you also ned to have used those tickets or passes to enter either of the parks that day, until you have passed through either parks turnstiles you can't book a slot.

Slots usually open up at 10am, 2pm and when the park is open longer, 5pm, but it will state in the app the next time booking opens. You can find it in the app by looking at the map, switching to list, scroll across to characters and select Walt Disney Studios Park and you should see it. If the queue has spaces it will let you select the meet (usually either Spider-Man or a surprise marvel character), who in your group wants to visit, then confirm your booking and give you an estimated wait time in minutes. You are then free to do other things until your time. The app will notify you (if your permissions allow that) when your time is close and again when it's your turn, but if you want to check in the meantime you can see your wait time in the account section of the app, under my tickets and passes.

You can only book to go once per day.

Queueing

The Centre is purpose build and uses a virtual queue, so you book a slot on the app and go when it is your turn.

There is usually still a little wait once inside but there are plenty of benches available. Saying that the queue for Spider-Man is usually directed to wait on the benches while the queue for the random character is directed to wait along the wall so if you are in that queue and do need a seat you need to kind of just go for it and ask if you can sit (or just plonk yourself) on the end of one.

If you are running late to the meet they will usually still let you in for a while after your time, just speak to the cast member on the door, usually as long as you are less than an hour late you should be OK, though this is at the cast members discretion.

Access

The building is very new and is great for access. The flooring is completely smooth throughout, no ramps or inclines at all, and no thresholds. Doors open automatically.

You enter a room to meet the character and these are spacious with plenty of room to manoeuvre.

If you want to view your photos the kiosks are at a good height.

Comfort

There is no loud music, and because it’s indoors it’s a nice temperature and you can take coats off for your pictures if you want to.

Overall it is a calm experience as you are in your own room with the character. You are given plenty of time to chat and interact, you do not feel rushed at all. The characters do a brilliant job of putting you at ease and are knowledgeable about the marvel universe.

Wheelie Good Score

This is a must do meet for me and I try for a slot usually every day I am in the parks! I have never had a bad experience or interaction. I really like the virtual queue as you don't need to walk over to get a return time, you can book from wherever you are in the parks, so no risk of turning up and being disappointed if no spaces are available.

You can get professional photos and can take off any layers to get that perfect photo!

For me personally this meet gets a wheelie good score of 5 out of 5!
