Dumbo is a classic Fantasyland ride, perfect for visitors of all ages. Take a ride aboard dumbo to experience beautiful views of fantasyland while enjoying your flight into the air. The elephants are all decorated with different coloured hats and the queue area is a cute circus themed tent.
The ride is suitable for all ages and for those who are pregnant.
There is no premier access for this ride so all colours of priority pass use the accessible entrance.
The accessible queue is located to the left side of the ride if you are facing the main queue, at the same side as the tea cups and opposite the little shop/kiosk. There is a red gate you go through then follow the ramp up towards the ride. The ramp double backs due to it’s length, but is smooth concrete, with a flat rest area when it switches back.
Once you reach the front of the accessible queue there is a bench in this area.
You can usually take wheelchairs and mobility aids right up to the ride. If you are able to stand and step over into the ride it’s not too difficult to access but it is more awkward if you need to transfer directly from chair due to the shape of the ride vehicle.
Guide and assistance dogs are not permitted to ride.
The ride vehicles (elephants) seat two but one adult and two small children may fit, and equally it could be a tight squeeze for two adults depending on size.
There is a seatbelt which you clip, no lap bar or other restraint. The bench seat is smooth so you can slip towards the edge of the seat or into the other rider so smaller guests are advised to board first.
The ride spins and raises up, though it is not very fast and you have some control over the height by using a lever in the vehicle.
This ride is great for younger guests and a nostalgic treat for older ones! It’s quite a quick ride but is enjoyable.
Whether it is worth it for you will likely depends on how much you like Dumbo, if you have small children and how easily you can transfer. I enjoy the views but the ride is one I'm not sad if I miss it on a trip!
My personal Wheelie Good Score is 3 out of 5!
Here are some additional images showing the queue line and the gate to look for when finding the accessible entrance.
